Full Frame vs Medium Format: Which Should You Buy?

After an incredible photography trip through Australia, I had a fascinating conversation with travel photographer Brendan Van Son about sensor size, dynamic range, megapixels, and whether medium format cameras are truly worth the cost for landscape photography. We discussed Micro Four Thirds, full frame, Fuji APS-C, Canon, Nikon, and even medium format systems like the Hasselblad X2D and Fujifilm GFX series. Is dynamic range really the biggest advantage? Are megapixels overrated? And should landscape photographers consider switching to medium format? As someone who shoots the OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II alongside my Leica Q, this conversation really made me rethink what matters most in photography gear. Would you switch to medium format for landscape photography? Or is Micro Four Thirds and full frame already more than enough? Brendan Van Son: https://www.youtube.com/@BrendanvanSon
