From Barber Shops to Barns — A Leica Perspective
Join me for a peaceful morning photo walk through Walton, Kentucky as I kick off my new Leica Summer Series using the classic Leica Q with its fixed 28mm f/1.7 lens. In this video, we explore small-town Northern Kentucky at sunrise, photographing veterans memorials, local businesses, country barns, and everyday life using only a handheld setup.
Along the way, I share why I love simplifying photography gear, what it’s like shooting with an 11-year-old Leica camera in 2026, and why small towns often make the best places for storytelling photography.
We stop by local favorites like Bailey Jaynes Bakery, Taylor’s Barber Shop, and of course Waffle House, while capturing the quiet atmosphere of Walton in the early morning light.
This video is part travel photography, part street photography, and part landscape photography adventure — all focused on enjoying photography with minimal gear and a simple approach.
